Mr. Tim Fout

Tim Fout is originally from Shelbyville, Indiana. He attended Catholic schools from kindergarten through college, including St. Joseph School, the (now defunct) Latin School of Indianapolis, and the (also now defunct) Saint Meinrad College. He received a Master's degree in philosophy from the University of Louisville and has, since 1980, taught philosophy, logic, ethics, and humanities at the University of Louisville, Indiana University Southeast, Bellarmine University, and Spalding University. He has been married to Judy since 1982. They have two adult children, Justin and Sarah. He was the primary teacher of both Justin and Sarah for two of their high school years and all (both teacher and students) benefited from the homeschooling experience. While he continues to teach, his wife operates the family business: A Reader's Corner Bookstore. Daughter Sarah is currently working in the business as well.

Fout is convinced that society and its members will thrive only if the family is strong. Fathers, especially homeschooling fathers, are critical to this effort. The anti-family influences of the culture can only be kept at bay if each family has a strong mother and father present in the home. The father's role of leadership (especially by example) cannot be underestimated. Fout will share some ideas and experiences that he hopes will encourage fathers to stay heavily involved in their children's lives as long as they (the father and/or the children) are alive. While homeschooling may seem to some to be an overwhelming challenge, the father of the family can be the key to success by his patience, interest, and loving support to this crucial endeavor.

Mr. Brian Corneilson, JD

Brian is the father of four, 2 in college and 2 still at home. He has been a homeschool dad for 5 years. Now retired from Active Duty Army, he graduated from Syracuse University and the Harvard School of Law. During his Army career, he served as a helicoptor pilot and as a lawyer in the Army's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. Brian has been offering basic classes in Personal Finance to Army Trainees and as part of Catholic marriage preparation conferences for many years. Financial freedom equals financial peace. Like any of life's great truths, it takes just a few minutes to become financially free but a lifetime of good habits to get and stay that way. Less time paying off debts means more time for God and family. Come learn how to get financially free!

Who We Are...

We are Catholic Homeschooling families in Kentucky. The member families of St. Benedict Homeschool Association share their commitment to providing the highest quality education for our children.

Our first goal is to help our members build holy lives through prayer with and for our fellow members and through participation in the sacraments, traditions, and teaching Magesterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

Our second goal is provide fellowship and encouragement, and our third goal is to share knowledge and resources among our members.

Our final goal is to work to continue the freedom of parents to homeschool.

We welcome you.

Our member families believe that Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh..."through whom all things were made." We believe that Jesus Christ, therefore, is the originator and revealer of all knowledge. So, while we are happy to share information which could be helpful to any homeschooling parent, our approach is most definitely Christ-centered. As Roman Catholics, we adhere to the teaching Magesterium of the Roman Catholic Church and pledge obedience to the successor of St Peter, Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI.
